Google Recipe View - yum

Google Logo officially released on May 2010Image via WikipediaWay cool!  We love to cook, and usually start hunting for recipes via Google Search.

So glad to learn via NPR that Cooks Get A New 'Recipe View' From Google.

Here's a peek at what it looks like:  Google with Recipe View helps you find recipes from across the web

Chez Panisse - The Head Chefs

Chez PanisseImage via WikipediaWhen I hear the restaurant name, Chez Panisse, I usually jump to the name of Alice Waters. But wait, there are some other key players, namely the head chefs, David Tanis and Jean-Pierre Moulle'.

Tanis just published his new book, Heart of the Artichoke and Other Kitchen Journeys, that is a sequel to his A Platter of Figs and Other Recipes. The new book continues and expands on the idea and feeling of intimate French dinners, for small, medium, and large gatherings.

Wine and Food To Taste Before You Die

We had a dinner party last night, and one of the guests mentioned this series of books.

She was very excited to share her find with us, so I'm sharing these books with you too!

Hello Golf Foodie World

French wines are usually made to accompany food.Image via Wikipedia
Welcome to my new blog, Golf Foodie.  This is going to be a place for lovers of fine food and wine, travel, and golf.

This past weekend inspired me to launch this blog.  We spent a long weekend with friends made during a 2005 Rhone-Burgundy-Alsace-Champagne France food & wine trip, and a 2008 Bordeaux-Dordogne-Languedoc France food & wine trip hosted by Wine-Knows Travel, Inc.  It was great catching up with friends who share our love of fine cuisine and wonderful wines. (June, I tried out the ribs recipe last night with Petite Syrah, yummm!)

During our stay, we managed to sneak out for a round of golf (and cigars) at Torrey Pines Golf Course. It was a blast for me considering I've only been playing since last December.  OK, I'll admit, I'm totally smitten by the game, and can't get enough of it.

On my return flight home, I snagged a copy of  "The Downhill Lie."  A good read for us hackers aspiring to play decent golf.
