Tiger Woods improves AT&T position with 3-under 68

Glad to see Tiger scoring and teasing us again. The question is whether he can keep this going through Sunday.

Tiger Woods improves ATT position with 3-under 68; Hunter Mahan leads - ESPN:

"A day after comparing the conditions this week at Congressional to a U.S. Open, Tiger Woods fought his way on Friday morning to a 3-under-par 68 in his second round of the AT&T National.

Woods' two-day total of 2-under par left him five shots off the lead held by Hunter Mahan."

Tiger Woods admits short game coming up short

It's painful to watch Tiger's short game on TV.  Hoping there's some improvement on the way.

Tiger Woods admits short game coming up short – USATODAY.com:

""I finally have a swing that doesn't hurt, and I am still generating power, but it doesn't hurt anymore," said Woods, who overhauled his swing previously with Butch Harmon and Hank Haney and is now working with Sean Foley. "I would say certainly my short game has been something that has taken a hit, and it did the same thing when I was working with Butch and the same thing when I was working with Hank."

A Piece of Paradise in Provence - Wine-Knows: Fine Wine & Gourmet Food Journeys

You've got to go to Chateau Talaud!  Follow the link to learn more.

A Piece of Paradise in Provence - Wine-Knows: Fine Wine & Gourmet Food Journeys for the Discerning Traveler:

"Being the owner of a company that conducts food and wine tours throughout the world I am frequently asked regarding my favorite spot for a personal holiday.   Both my husband and I agree that it is Chateau Talaud in Provence.   We’ve been here too many times to count and each time this charmer exceeds our oh-so-very-high expectations.

I particularly love the attention to detail of the chateau...from the luxurious fabrics to the carefully chosen cutlery and dishes. It's easy to understand why the property has been featured in the European edition of Architectural Digest.   But, the property is any thing but stuffy---it is quiet country elegance with a “comfort-food-for-the-soul” kind of vibe."

What’s next for Tiger Woods?

Updated May 23, 2024

The original link broke.

Sadly, Tiger isn't likely to return to form.

---  the original post follows below  ---

What’s next for Tiger Woods? - BostonHerald.com:

"He’s healthy. He’s hungry. He’s hot.

Tiger Woods comes to the Olympic Club this week having recaptured much of the long-misplaced skill, swagger and intimidating aura that some thought was lost forever.

His reconstructed swing is starting to look sweet. His once legendary putter, while still betraying him at times, is beginning to revert to divining-rod form." . . .

"Perhaps Nicklaus’ opinion on Woods’ immediate future — specifically at Olympic — carries the most weight.

“I suspect No. 15 will come for Tiger Woods in about two weeks,” Nicklaus said at the Memorial trophy presentation. “If he drives the ball this way, and plays this way, I’m sure it will. And if not, it will surprise me greatly.”"

Tiger Woods Wins Memorial Tournament 2012, Ties Jack Nicklaus With 73 PGA Tour Wins

Matching another milestone.

Tiger Woods Wins Memorial Tournament 2012, Ties Jack Nicklaus With 73 PGA Tour Wins:

"With a remarkable rally even by his standards, Tiger Woods birdied three of his last four holes to win the Memorial on Sunday and match tournament host Jack Nicklaus with his 73rd title on the PGA Tour.

Woods was one shot behind and looking at probable bogey in deep rough behind the 16th green when he chipped in from 50 feet for birdie to tie for the lead. In the group behind him, Rory Sabbatini made bogey from the bunker on the 16th hole and never caught up.

Woods closed with a 5-under 67, matching the best score of the final round. He won the Memorial for the fifth time. Woods and Nicklaus are tied for second place in career wins on tour, trailing Sam Snead at 82."

Tiger Woods wins again, and for now, that’s enough

Wow, what a finish!

Tiger Woods wins again, and for now, that’s enough | Devil Ball Golf - Yahoo! Sports:

"This was a vintage performance from Woods, but let's not forget that his three greatest challengers, Spencer Levin, Rickie Fowler and Rory Sabbatini, all started leaking oil down the stretch. Woods deserved the win, but the troubles of his playing partner and the pairing behind him made it that much easier."

Sunday could be special for Woods at Memorial Tournament

Come on Tiger, hang tough and stay consistent!

Sunday could be special for Woods at Memorial Tournament | McClatchy Tribune News Service | The Bellingham Herald:

"Tiger Woods is 1 stroke and two rounds away from tying Jack Nicklaus for the second-most victories in PGA Tour history.

There would be no more fitting tournament to do it than the Memorial, founded and hosted by Nicklaus on the course that Jack built, Muirfield Village Golf Club.

"We've got a long way to go for that," Woods said. "Obviously it would be nice, but I've still got half a tournament to go.""

Wine-Knows: Gianduja - A Marriage Made in Heaven

Yum!  Follow the link to the rest of the delicious story.

Wine-Knows: Fine Wine and Gourmet Food Journeys for the Discerning Traveler: A Marriage Made in Heaven:

"Chocolate lover?  Hazelnut nut?  In the 1850’s, before Italy was even a nation, a chocolate-maker in the sophisticated food-loving city of Turin (the center of the powerful House of Savoy) invented the perfect union of these two culinary gems.  He named it Gianduja (john due yuh) after a marionette character who was the popular local folk icon.  "

Tiger Woods' consistency saves his round of 70 at Memorial

Now if he could only keep it going and be consistent! . . . I'm hoping.

Tiger Woods' consistency saves his round of 70 at Memorial - ESPN:

"Coming off his worst three-tournament stretch as a pro, Tiger Woods returned to the type of golf Thursday that typically has led to good performances in his career.

Woods birdied three of the par-5s at Muirfield Village Golf Club, made several good par saves when he missed greens, and overcame a double bogey at his ninth hole to shoot 2-under-par 70 at the Memorial Tournament, where he trailed leader Scott Stallings by 4 shots."
