"A vacation is supposed to be your time away from the crazy. Remind me never to travel to any of the same vacation spots these people have booked. I'll take that upgrade and trade you a bus tour of "OH MY GOD THESE PEOPLE ARE NUTS!"

Luxury Travel's Stunning Rebound - Travel Market Report

Luxury Travel's Stunning Rebound - Travel Market Report:

" . . . the powerful trend toward experiential travel, where clients seek out unique encounters with a destination’s culture, history and people.

The trend fits neatly with luxury travel as clients often seek those kinds of experiences in far-flung, exotic destinations not on the mass market tourism map."

A New Year Golf Gift

New Year's Eve fireworks in ParisImage via WikipediaWe spent New Year's day with some special friends. Of course, we spent it over a lunch of fine food and fine wine. They too, love to play golf.

They surprised us with a fun gift of:  Golfing - The Golfers Journal - Write It Down! Memories Are All That's Left - Live, Love, Laugh . . . (Author: Barbara Morina)

It's a fun journal.  Next big question. I've kept scorecards for the last year or so, should I go back and try to reconstruct the past year in the journal?!

Golf Excursions Booked - Boning Up On Pelz Putting Bible

Updated October 23, 2022

Sadly, the original, most important link broke.

---  the original post follows below  ---

I'm stoked.  Upcoming Norwegian Cruise Line cruise in Hawaii.  Just booked 4 days of golf. They take care of everything, Golf Hawaii Program aboard Pride of America.

In prep, I'm thinking I should be studying up on Dave Pelz' book, Dave Pelz's Putting Bible: The Complete Guide to Mastering the Green (Dave Pelz Scoring Game Series).

In parallel, I'm putting in the hallway.

Wine and Food To Taste Before You Die

We had a dinner party last night, and one of the guests mentioned this series of books.

She was very excited to share her find with us, so I'm sharing these books with you too!

Hello Golf Foodie World

French wines are usually made to accompany food.Image via Wikipedia
Welcome to my new blog, Golf Foodie.  This is going to be a place for lovers of fine food and wine, travel, and golf.

This past weekend inspired me to launch this blog.  We spent a long weekend with friends made during a 2005 Rhone-Burgundy-Alsace-Champagne France food & wine trip, and a 2008 Bordeaux-Dordogne-Languedoc France food & wine trip hosted by Wine-Knows Travel, Inc.  It was great catching up with friends who share our love of fine cuisine and wonderful wines. (June, I tried out the ribs recipe last night with Petite Syrah, yummm!)

During our stay, we managed to sneak out for a round of golf (and cigars) at Torrey Pines Golf Course. It was a blast for me considering I've only been playing since last December.  OK, I'll admit, I'm totally smitten by the game, and can't get enough of it.

On my return flight home, I snagged a copy of  "The Downhill Lie."  A good read for us hackers aspiring to play decent golf.
