After more than a year away from competitive golf, the former world No. 1 said Wednesday that he hopes to play in the Safeway Open from Oct. 13-16 in Napa, Calif. It will be his first tournament since two back surgeries last fall left him on indefinite hiatus from the game he once dominated."
