Physicist cuts plane boarding time in half | Crave - CNET: 'via Blog this'

If only things could be so easy! I imagine the algorithm breaks down, when folks are running late, and aren't present to take a seat when the algorithm says go to your seat and sit.

Wine-Knows: Fine Wine and Gourmet Food Journeys for the Discerning Traveler: CORKAGE FEES---a Different Viewpoint

Wine-Knows: Fine Wine and Gourmet Food Journeys for the Discerning Traveler: CORKAGE FEES---a Different Viewpoint: Many of us have succumbed reluctantly to the outrageous $35-50 corkage fees of some "destination" restaurants. An upscale Italian trattoria...

I just had to "Blogger Blog This."  Way too funny of a post from our friends at Wine-Knows Travel.

Enjoy!

Livermore Valley Wine Tasting

We spent this past Saturday with friends on a Livermore wine tasting tour.  What a fun time!

We made it to 4 wineries:
  1. Crooked Vine and Stoney Creek
  2. Wente
  3. Rios Lovell
  4. Concannon
If you love Petite Sirah, there was plenty to be had.

Birthday Card With Funny Golf Joke

My birthday just passed, and someone sent me a humorous golf-themed birthday card.
Know why golfers eat their birthday cake whole?
They don't like to slice anything!

I'm A Big Fan of Wine-Knows Travel . . .

I love the folks at Wine-Knows Travel!

I'm big fans of theirs.  We've joined them on food & wine tours in 2005 (Avignon, Southern/Northern Rhone, Burgundy, Alsace, Champagne), and 2008 (Bordeaux, St. Emilion, through the Dordogne Valley to Colliure).  Both were great food and wine trips with lots of educational experiences.

I'm so pleased to see them launch their blog:   Wine-Knows: Fine Wine & Gourmet Food Journeys for the Discerning Traveler.

Check it out!

Google Hotel Finder

Nice feature!

Google Hotel Finder lets you search for U.S. hotels in a given city by date, location on a map, price, hotel class, and user rating.

I especially like the capability to expand or limit the geographic area to search by dragging the boundaries of the search area "shape."

Very cool.

North Carolina Ranks 9th in US Wine Production

Who would've guessed.

We just came back from a visit to North Carolina.  During our stay there, we learned that:
"North Carolina is home to more than 100 wineries. The number of wineries has more than quadrupled since 2001. The industry has two focuses — native muscadine grapes and European-style vinifera grapes" (http://www.visitncwine.com/)

Another Whim - Oak Island, NC

We just returned from a fabulous week of vacation in NC. We stayed at this fabulous property in Oak Island, NC, "Another Whim" - Oak Island, NC

A great property on the beach!  ... and we saw the dolphins swim by too!

Disappointed In Tiger Woods

What a bummer! Another Tiger melt-down.

Tiger Woods Returns - I'm Thrilled!

Tiger Woods at 2004 PGA Championship in Kohler...Image via Wikipedia
Great news, Tiger Woods Expected for PGA Championship.

I'm really excited about his return.

I certainly follow him for the drama, Caddie Choice Serves as Window Into Woods’s Thinking. But mostly, I'd like to see him return to his competitive form.

Go Tiger!

I'm so excited to see our good friends at Wine-Knows Travel Inc. launch their blog, Wine-Knows: Fine Wine and Gourmet Food Journeys for the Discerning Traveler.

Sante' and Cin-Cin!

In case you're wondering, that's me (in the photo) during the 2008 Wine-Knows Travel tour from Bordeaux to Collioure.  (I'm all smiles!)

That Rascally Fox

Played golf today at Sharp Park Golf Course in Pacifica, CA.

This bold little fox stole the ball off the tee from Allan, someone in our playing group.

When it was my turn, I had to throw an orange ball off to the side to distract it.   Gotta love nature!

Google Quick Flight Search - I Love It

I love Google's new flight search feature.

Plan your next trip with the new flight schedule feature (an official Google blog post).

I use Google Search for most everything that I do. So it's only natural to hunt for flights via Google, and avoid the multiple clicks in travel websites.

Check it out!  Use Google Search and type things like:
  • flights from san francisco to minneapolis
  • flights from sfo to pdx
  • flights from sfo
It's fun, cool, and useful.
